Wedding Party – Good color & poses but missed focus

The no flash version. More noisy but the people had better expressions and the color and shadows are better. It looks like I hit the back wall as a focus point but I checked in the Nikon software and I hit the priest where his darker skin meets his white collar. That’s the only time I will ever hit a priest 😉 Anyway maybe I reframed and it had the back wall tagged, or had it on manual focus from a previous shot and thought it was on auto-focus, seems that way here. This shot had a slow shutter and bigger aperture for more depth of field. f9 @ 1/25sec. but elevated ISO of 2000. The posted photo next to this with the flash was at f3.5 @ 1/60sec. and low ISO of 100. All posing done by other people I gave no direction.

Opinions about the church altar area formal photography invited below. Lighting was very low and mixed, 4 different kinds of light sources. Gear used was mid-grade between beginner and pro. Shots are processed in LR & PS
