We went to a Cambodian wedding dinner on Sunday. It was so loud, and colourful, and bright, and convivial.

There were several courses of savoury, fragrant food, starting with an appetizer of nuts and dried fish and moving into the main courses of roast duck prawn, sweet sour shrimp, etc.

By the end, the table bore the appropriate aftermath of such an feast, cluttered with empty drink cans, napkins, bones, shrimp tails and the remains of prawns.
