Elizabeth Ann Lane (1863-1942) – Manchester, England – 1885 (?)
Elizabeth Ann Lane nee Horrocks (1863-1942), sister of Charlotte Roberts nee Horrocks, and grandmother of John Edgar Lane. The photograph was taken by James Molyneux of Manchester. The date of the photograph is unknown, but it is thought to have been taken in 1885 in the lead up to her marriage – note that she isn’t wearing a wedding band. Elizabeth Ann Horrocks married Thomas Lane on 12/10/1885 in Brookfield Church, Gorton, Lancashire, UK. The print was carried by Gertrude Lane to Australia when she emigrated in 1914.
Whilst searching on the internet, I came across some additional information about the photographer – James Molyneux. I have provided the link below. There is an image at this URL that shows the reverse side of a photograph taken by James Molyneux. I have linked to the image in question in a comment below this description.
"James Molyneux, Artist and Photographer, 65, Great Ducie St., Strangeways, Manchester. Copies may always be had."
