Defence reception

Rome 7 February 2012 – On 7 February the Defence Section of the British Embassy in Rome held their Annual Reception in honour of the Queen Elisabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee.
The Reception was held at the Ambassador’s Residence, Villa Wolkonsky, and hosted a range of military contacts from the 4 Italian Military Services and the Defence Attachés of other countries in Rome.
This year’s reception offered its guests a particularly British flavour, including a variety of British food, a whisky tasting stand and, in recognition of the Queen’s fondness for bagpipe music, a Military Piper to play at the end of the evening.
